I think certain parts of America will slowly open up within the next 30 to 45 days.......I see the virus contained June/July, & by Sept, company's, etc all over America should be back to work unless they're filing bankruptcy.

People will still practice social distancing, which will be hard on restaurants, bars, etc......but hopefully by the Thanksgiving & Christmas, things will be back to some normalcy.

There will be quite a few people suffering from PTSD

Good luck to Texas with that move.

I'm afraid Canada won't start opening up again for weeks, or perhaps months, at least not on the West coast where i am.

I think there will be an army of Howie Mandell's (germophobes). I made the mistake of telling one of my clients (who I thought had this thing in perspective) that the virus spray we had was only effective if left on a surface for 4 minutes. Next thing I know she's spraying everything and just leaving it dripping. Machine handles, stability balls, etc. I was like "woman are you crazy?!...no one's doing what you're doing". She had completely lost her mind. We'd barely get a workout in with all her cleaning. I told her that if she hadn't figured it out, gyms are petri dishes of bacteria. I've known that for years and have always been a frequent hand washer. Lord forbid I put a black light on the equipment (she would have been running from the gym).

As for the rest of your comment, yeah, my old neck of the woods (California) will be lucky to get a single business started by the end of the year with Communist ruler Gavin Newsom in charge. That power hungry SOB thinks he's a dictator. I'm hoping once we move into our house, my son will realize how much better it is living in Texas in a beautiful home instead of paying $1500 for a room, and see how much further your money will go. Then he can get the hell out of that godforsaken place.

Abbott just got done with his news conference and said a plan would be unveiled this week. He said he will be working in conjunction with the White House and medical professionals and that this isn't a one plan fits all approach. He commented on how the White House officials were receptive to the suggestions of different governors across the country and how Texas approaches it will not be the same as say a Nebraska or a New York. It does appear Texas will be leading the way on getting the ball rolling. Admittedly, you know the group on here and the rest of the doomsayers across the country will be ready to pounce if there is even a 1/4 of 1% increase in the amount of people that contract the disease, regardless of the benefit to the economy. Businesses will be strategically open with priority given to the ones that have zero to minimal impact regarding social distancing and onward.

There are several weddings in Sept & Oct & was talking to a friend who's daughter is getting married in Oct & she was wondering & worried how the place where they're hosting the wedding hall, on whether they will be using social distancing, how many people will be allowed in the hall which is pretty big, etc.......& how about all the weddings this fall from all over the country, places have been reserved, & paid for, etc.

What a mess it must be for everyone involved in trying to get these weddings off & running. It's enough stress planning a wedding, then adding a pandemic on top.

Like I've stated before, I do think the virus is contained by June/July, but the cost of psychological & economical damage will remain long after.......

My niece had her wedding scheduled a year and a half in advance for Wellesley College. The venue cancelled. The next thought was to get married at what was scheduled to be the rehearsal dinner. Nope. That restaurant cancelled reservations as well. She's rescheduled everything for June of 2001. Crazy.

White House today announced that Jared & Ivanka will be leading the New task force along with five other non -medical and non-economist trump buddies, so Abbott's decision making should be sharp & cutting edge

My work is in Dallas county...assuming I keep my job...I plan on working from home for another 2 months and every other week in office for the next several months.
Lot of people in my hood looking forward to opening back up.

Only the handful of nuts (just like this forum) are terrified and want to stay home for years. That's fine...stay home.

[FONT=Verdana,Tahoma,Arial,Calibri,Geneva,sans-serif]Just the fact that Abbott is taking about it a psychological boost not just for Texas
but for the entire country.

I'd like to see Trump focus on that aspect more.

The governor of Nevada will give Newsom a run for his money to be the last State to
open back up. He just decided to close golf courses because a report of seeing pictures
of golfers riding two to a cart and gathering on greens. (Oh the humanity)

But pot dispensaries remain essential.

I've seen a lot of bizarre shit go down in my lifetime but this ranks in the top five.

[FONT=Verdana,Tahoma,Arial,Calibri,Geneva,sans-serif]May 1st 2021 maybe. One of the many reasons I moved here was because it was a red state.

Kind of the wild wild west. Anything goes, do your thing, nobody gives a shit.

Now it has turned into Cali east.

I swear to God I could fuck up a 1 car funeral.
